Step by Step, Skin Care with Mario Badescu

Updated: Apr 14, 2020

Mario Badescu is a household name all over the world. Their natural ingredients and clay-based products pay homage to the skincare ingredients our grandmothers and great grandmothers used way back when there weren't harsh additives in our cosmetics. In leyman's terms, it's just simple skincare.

I started getting into this brand right after going off of Accutane. I broke out, but it wasn't as bad as it was prior to Accutane. I had small manageable pimples, but I just wanted a quick and easy solution to manageable breakouts. So said so done, and I was introduced to the MB drying lotion. (This solution has saved my life on a number of occasions). From left to right the products featured are the Almond and Honey Scrub, Vitamin C Serum, Top to bottom: Enzyme revitalizing mask, Whitening mask, and drying lotion.

Product Breakdown:

Almond Honey Scrub: VERY GENTLE scrub. This gorgeous scrub smells amazing, seriously guys it smells like heaven. The "scrub" part is almonds paired with oatmeal, honey, and kaolin clay.

Vitamin C Serum: MB's Vitamin C serum is pure vitamin c. Its great for any type of scarring, skin rejuvenation, adding radiance, just anything. Vitamin C is your answer to your problems trust me.

Enzyme Revitalizing Mask: This mask is yellow in color, which to the naked eye can appear weird. But it smells so clean and fresh you don't even notice it. It contains active enzymes, which help boost your skin's radiance. So if your skin is lacking in radiance, or it if needs a pick me up, this is your mask.

Whitening Mask: My aunt first introduced me to this mask, after I had a massive breakout on my right cheek and it left a scar. You can leave this on overnight, but I choose to apply it in the shower and have the steam help it work. It contains licorice, which helps with discoloration and dehydration. If you're not drinking enough water, you're going to want to get this mask.

Step by Step

1) After washing your face apply the scrub in a circular and upward motion. This movement will help blood flow and lessen the chance of any wrinkling.

2) Apply the mask of your choice. Let it sit for at least 15-20 min.

3) Wash away the mask, pat dry, and apply the Vitamin C Serum, to a clean and dry face.

4) Apply the drying lotion by dipping a cotton swab into the lotion and spot treating any active breakouts. It is going to sting but its a good sting :)

5) Get a good night rest!

There you have it! A great product breakdown and a step by step on how to use these products. MB is a cult favorite and in my opinion aren't that overpriced to begin with. Its a great starter skincare, or even a regular using skincare brand. I also love their rosewater facial spray. I don't have it pictured here because I ran out. But its a godsend.

XX,

Alyssa
